Discover Keywords that Have a High Search Volume with a Low Number of Products Indexed

In today’s highly competitive e-commerce world, finding the right keywords is critical to the success of your online business. However, finding the right keywords can be a daunting task, which is why Helium 10 has made it easy for you to find the best keywords for your products using our keyword research tool Cerebro. In this blog post, we’ll explore a simple strategy using Cerebro to find high-search volume keywords with a low number of indexed competitors.

Before we get into this strategy, let’s understand why it could be beneficial to you. Sometimes, there may be a high search volume for a particular keyword, but there could also be a significant number of indexed products. In such a scenario, the competition is high, and it becomes challenging to rank your product higher in the search results. However, if you can find keywords with high search volume and a low number of indexed competing products, you can increase your chances of ranking higher in search results and drive more traffic to your product pages.

To find these keywords quickly, we use a filter in our tool Cerebro called, “Cerebro IQ score.” The Cerebro IQ score measures the ratio of search volume to the number of products indexed. In other words, it tells us how many products are competing for a particular keyword.

Let’s look at an example to understand this better. The first step to set up this strategy is to make sure that your competitor’s ASINS are in Cerebro with your ASIN listed first so that you can compare yourself to your competitors. Then, hit get keywords to do the reverse ASIN search.

In this example, we are looking at coffin shelves so we are going to fill in a minimum search volume of 1000 because we want a higher search volume and a minimum of 5000 in the Cerebro IQ score. In this strategy, quickly find keywords with a high search volume and a low number of indexed competitors. to find the keywords that have a good amount of search volume but a low amount of competition.

After applying these filters, you may find keywords such as “aesthetically pleasing bedroom decor,” with 10,000 searches a month, but only 750 indexed products. This means that there is a significant search volume for this keyword, but the competition is relatively low. Similarly, you may find keywords like “Halloween soap dispenser,” with 13,000 searches a month, but only 1,000 indexed products.

By using this simple strategy, you can find keywords that have high search volume and low competition. This means you can target these keywords in your product listings and increase your chances of ranking higher in search results, driving more traffic to your product pages and potentially making more sales.

In conclusion, finding the right keywords is a crucial aspect of any successful e-commerce business. By using a simple strategy like the one we’ve discussed in this blog post, you can find high search volume keywords with low competition, giving your online business a competitive advantage. So, go ahead and give it a try and see the results for yourself.
