Who doesn’t love treasure maps? Better yet, who doesn’t love treasure maps that show you daily updates of every warehouse where your Amazon products are being stored?

Introducing a brand new way to visualize and manage your FBA inventory within Helium 10… Heat Maps!

Getting A Bird’s Eye View of All Your “Eggs”

Heat Maps, or Heat Map Analytics, gives you a map illustrating all warehouse locations where your Amazon FBA inventory is currently stored.

The bigger the circle, the more inventory is at that location!

It sure looks cool, but is it actually important?

As discussed in Freedom Ticket, our Amazon FBA course, we recommend keeping your product listing closed or suppressed until your inventory is widely distributed across the country. When launching or re-launching a product, the last thing you want is to do is give shoppers a reason to buy from a competitor because your product will take too long to deliver.

Long inventory wait times are an Amazon momentum-killer.

Say your new product listing is live and there are only 100 units available at a single warehouse in California. Someone in New Hampshire may click on your product and find out it will take two weeks to get to them even though it’s a Prime item. It hasn’t reached the proper FBA warehouses yet!

Using Helium 10 Heat Maps

Within Seller Central, there is a way to print out an inventory report detailing where your inventory is being stored. However, Amazon notates this with a three-digit code that the common person can’t translate!

Within Helium 10, we’ve turned this into something truly helpful.

Where to find Heat Maps with Helium 10

Heat maps can be found in the Profits dashboard, within its own tab labeled “Heat Maps.”

At the top of the Heat Maps tool, you can type in your ASIN or SKU and instantly get a map of the country where your inventory is currently being stored! Currently, Heat Maps is only available for the US.

Heat maps is updated once every day and includes the following information break downs:

  • Number of sellable items
  • Number of customer damaged items
  • Defective items
  • Total items

This breakdown is available for each city where your inventory is stored!

Think back to the last tornado that shut down an Amazon warehouse or the last strike that delayed production. With Heat Maps, you’ll always have a top-down view of where you inventory is… and isn’t!

Other Ways to Find Heat Maps

While viewing any product in your main Profits dashboard, direct your attention to the far-right column. You should see what looks like a folded map icon. Clicking on this icon will also take you to your inventory Heat Map.

Want to save your Heat Map? Helium 10 allows you to export your report directly to Excel.
